Our Free Food Farmers Market began before 2020, but we knew we needed to adapt to the new “norm” when the pandemic came around. That’s when the idea of a drive-thru Farmers Market took over and has stuck ever since. Our Free Food Farmers Market is located on the backside of Church on Fire here in Harrison Ohio. We operate on Wednesday evenings, from 6-8 PM. When our guests arrive, they are greeted by a friendly check-in team member and then drive around the backside of the Big Lots plaza until they reach the rear of Church on Fire. Our volunteer team is ready to load their vehicle in the desired location, with bags of fresh produce, frozen sauce/protein items, and shelf-stable pantry items. Our volunteers strive to make deep connections with our guests, checking in on them, and staying up-to-date on events happening in their lives. It’s becoming more and more common that residents in our community (and those surrounding) cannot afford groceries, and that’s why we are here to help meet the need!
